LR:
The other day I had what could have bee chaos in my house, a disaster. Mostly it was just me. And, you know, my husband is out of the country and half my family was gone somewhere else, and Jordan’s in Africa. Actually, I think Jordan was on her way to Africa. Richard was on his way to Israel. I mean, it was one of those days.
So here something comes up, and I texted Brenda. And Brenda’s response was not something out of Brenda. She said, “I’ll take some time and pray about it.” Well, that’s the best kind of prayer you can ever have.
So in the process of that, instead of answering with some fleshly answer, she was giving me, “I’ll pray about it.”
Now that’s wonderful, like the Abundant Life Prayer Group, to have someone in prayer connect. Okay, now what about the times when God isn’t going to let you prayer connect when He’s requiring you to mature? And now everybody needs a kick. Everybody needs a boost, a prayer partner, a power of agreement, I understand it. But what about not relinquishing what part is our responsibility, where God is requiring us to dig into that well?
BK:
I will honestly say, the first person I think of, hands down, is Peter. Peter was the one who always forged out with God and then, you know, he ended up kind of in a heap sometimes. And so he’s a great example for all of us. But you remember in Matthew 14, he got out of the boat, and he was going to walk on water. He was going to forge out in his moment of faith. And, interesting, the Bible kind of gives a little bit of a progression there, but it says, Peter, he got out of the boat to walk on the water. He went to walk to Jesus, and so that was the process of faith. That was God taking you into your destiny.
But in the process, the Bible said, “The wind became boisterous.” And you remember this. And he said the wind started to blow. That was the disruption. That was the divine disruption. Peter’s responsibility was to keep walking, but he started to look at the disruption instead of the Lord and he lost out on the miracle that God wanted to produce.
And Jesus, you know—I love Jesus. You know, He didn’t turn and He didn’t say, “Oh, my sweet child. I understand where you’re coming from.” That’s what we want to hear God say. “O God, do you see what I’m in?”
He turns and says, “Why in the world did you doubt, oh you of little faith,” you know.
LR:
While he’s down there drowning.
BK:
Give the man some credit. He tried. But the truth of it is, that God wants you to forge forth in the destiny, even while there are distruptions, because there’s always a miracle that you are able to produce when you follow the direction of God. Even when the wind’s blowing, stay on that path.
LR:
Let’s get into feelings. We’ve got just a second, and I’ve got to ask Christy this. You have to stand up, open the service. You have to open the atmosphere, really. The first thing out of the buck and chute, there you guys are. Okay, you don’t feel like it. Maybe you’re not in the mood, okay? Maybe you’re not ready for a large number of people to be drawing on your anointing when you’re like, “Where is my anointing?” How do you shut the flesh down and say, “This is not the time for the flesh. This is the time for the supernatural to kick in”?
CH:
Well, you know, I think the thing for me that I always remember is, when we get out and we get on the stage, we’re here for Jesus. We’re here for the kingdom. We’re here to worship, so everything else has to take a backseat.
And, you know, she was talking about Peter, you know, and we think about he started looking at the winds and the waves. And the Bible says in Hebrews 13 that, “We look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, because for the joy that was set before us.” So when we get our focus onto God, everything else that’s going on around us, I don’t care how emotional, how hard, how rough it is, when we get our eyes on Him, it takes the focus off of the disruption. It takes the focus off of our emotions. And, you know, your emotions many times, they’re going to tell you the wrong thing. They’re going to interrupt what you ought to be focusing on.
And in Psalm 121 it says, “I lift my eyes to the hills where my help comes from.” And I am telling you, every time we look to the Lord and we draw upon the strength of His power, the strength of His anointing, we realize it’s not about our own strength anyway. And it really does become a much easier road to walk, even though sometimes we do have to fight it out.
LR:
Sometimes we think, How could I be even put in the same term as the word supernatural? That’s the Holy Spirit residing within you, and it’s there. We might not recognize it. We might not know it but, I’m telling you, God put it there and it’s for us, for our good, for our benefit. All we have to do is stir it up.
BK:
Well, and I will say this, I’m going to just say just a ditto and follow up with what she just said. Some of our most challenging times come right before you either have to walk out on that TV set and you’ve got to minister and do—
LR:
I tell you, it is.
BK:
And you’ve got to go right out, you’ve got to preach, you’ve got to minister to somebody. And God as my witness, you think, God, I don’t have it in me right now. This couldn’t have come at a worse time, right before that big crusade or whatever. And, Lindsay, God as my witness, those have been the times I’ve seen the most miracles.
We were in one country, a lady was healed of AIDS. And, I mean, we were exhausted. And I thought, God, I don’t have it in me. It’s in you, and it just needs to be released and to flow. It’s not based on how you feel. You walk out there, and you minister by the power of God to whoever. If you’re in the grocery store or wherever you are, you can be on the bus, you can be at the shopping mall, you can be at work, and that supernatural—you don’t have to go by feelings—but you just manifest God. And you go in there and you be a spokesman for Jesus, and people’s lives are going to get changed.
LR:
The book is called The Supernatural You. I’m going to give you a website, ovm (One Voice Ministry), ovm.org. This one’s by Brenda. We’ve got the books by Hank. Oh, my goodness, the secrets that are revealed in the latest book, The Revealer of Secrets, is literally God’s revelation through prophecy. I want to encourage you, all you have to do, go on their website, ovm.org.
If you need prayer, 918-495-7777. You can go on-line at Oral Roberts Ministry website, orm.cc, write Richard Roberts and Lindsay Roberts at Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74102, or like I said, go to the telephone, 918-495-7777. I encourage you to get their book. Thank you guys for being here. Whatever you do today, I want to encourage you to make it count for the kingdom of God.
LR:
Okay, now officially, this is Brenda Kunneman. She and her husband Hank are pastors of the church, The Lord of Host Church, in Omaha, Nebraska, One Voice Ministry, if you want to go on the website, ovm.org, and her sister Christy, the chef of the family.
BK:
Yes, she is, extraordinaire.
LR:
She is great. Well, let me tell you what really happened. We went up to Omaha to preach in your church and, you know, I tell you something began to transform at that church. We were ready to minister, and as we were getting ready to minister, Christy starts singing. And I’ll tell you something, the Spirit of the Lord, it was as though—you know when the Bible talks about a descending? You could just feel it descending down. It was amazing.
And so, I tell you, you take a team like your teaching, your preaching, your husband’s preaching and his prophetic ministry and you and your husband in worship, and you get a whole package—I’ll tell you what, when that happens.
Newest book, the newest book you’ve called The Supernatural You, living from the well of God’s Spirit within you, you were talking about divine disruption. Many times we talk about disruptions in our life, and we think, Oh, why did God do this to me?, when, in fact, God didn’t do something to you. He is saving you from something.
And we have to recognize through the Holy Spirit, through listening to the voice of God, what’s the difference between a divine disaster, or a divine disruption, where God himself says, “Pumpkin, I’m saving you from something.”
BK:
Well, you know, I’m thinking about the children of Israel, you know, because the Bible said what happened to them happened for our example. So, Lindsay, when I think about a divine disruption, I think about them. God was taking them out of Egypt into the Promised Land.
LR:
And it looked like a disaster.
BK:
That’s right. And they went out. But if you study the children of Israel, even though they were in the wilderness, nothing bad had happened to them. God was providing for them. He was taking care of them. But the disruption was that God didn’t tell them that there was a process to come out of Egypt into the Promised Land. There was a process. They had to sit on a few brown rocks along the way. They had to trust God for their food. They had to trust God for their provisions, you know.
And I know there’s people watching today who they’re trusting God for the provision and they’re asking God, “God, what’s going on? You gave me this promise. You told me the destiny. I’ve had prophetic words. I’ve trusted the Scripture.”
LR:
And of course we want it to happen in 37 seconds or less. Really less.
BK:
Yes, probably less, probably by the time the church service is over—
LR:
We walk out, and it’s all done.
BK:
That’s right. But we don’t realize there’s a process that has to happen. And what God is doing is, He’s building you with the anointing and His presence so you can handle the greatness.
LR:
When things hit, you might have been prepared.
BK:
That’s exactly right. And God’s things are precious. The greatness of the anointing of God, the greatness of His anointing is something that He wants to manifest through every believer. I talk about in the book that every believer has an anointing. Every believer possesses the power of God in their life to manifest miracles, to do the works of Jesus, to see the sick healed.
But the process of developing into that sometimes requires some disruptions. It happened with the prophet Elijah.
LR:
We want fairy dust and, what is that, tiptoe through the tulips.
BK:
God disrupted the children of Israel so that they could get ready for what was to take place.
LR:
Remember when the Scripture says, you know, “Don’t let the foot say, I have no need of the hand. Don’t let the hand say”—you know, if we’re all ears, who speaks? If we’re all mouthpieces, we can’t hear. Everybody has their individual part to play.
Now you take that thought and you couple it with line upon line, precept upon precept. It’s like building blocks. Okay, so here’s Christy in the church, you are sisters in the church, and so instead of saying, “You know, I want to be the worship leader.” “Well, I want to preach.” How is it that you find that place of where—here’s the key word, big word, four letters—your anointing is?
Now you may think, Oh, but that anointing was so much more fun. Or, I don’t want to be on television. You know what I’m saying? Everybody thinks they have their perception of what their place should be.
BK:
. . . disruption.
LR:
Yes. How is it that God gets our attention, and how do we know it’s God and not the devil disrupting us to get us into that position of divine place?
BK:
Well, one thing I know for us is, the biggest thing—and we grew up together—is our hunger has always been first the kingdom, first the kingdom. We share and we talk. We’re hungry first for the kingdom. And I know that there’s times we have these conversations.
CH:
Yes, we have.
BK:
And we have talked about how do you find your place in God? And if you’re in that 100 percent pursuit of the kingdom, you’ll know. You know, the Bible says, “The steps of a good man are ordered.” And so if you’re in pursuit of the kingdom, you know when you’re still on God’s path. Something in you, that anointing in you, it leads you. The Bible says we have an unction from the Holy One, an anointing. It leads you into truth. You know even when God is just messing with you a little bit to lead you into that promise. And we’ve had this—
CH:
Well, sometimes people get to where they’re so determined that somebody else’s gift is so much better than theirs, that their peace is not that important. And we don’t realize that when we fulfill what God has called us to do, we function in that. A lot of times it’s a lot easier than trying to fit a mold that doesn’t fit us.
BK:
And that’s what produces the anointing.
LR:
Square peg in a round hole.
BK:
And that’s what produces the supernatural out of you. That’s what brings forth the miracles.
LR:
Remember the scriptures throughout the Old Testament where much of the battle did not happen until the worshippers went first. It’s very clear that worship opens the door, clears a pathway, if I can say it properly, opens that pathway when there is going to be spiritual warfare.
Listen, you get in the pulpit and know there are people in your audience that may be demon possessed, there may be people that need healing, people that may be suicidal, people that may be depressed, and you have that locked in your brain and you’re getting ready to prepare the place.
Now forgive me for saying this and, no, it was not at their church. Let’s preface that. I was sitting down one time, and I’m telling you, it was not worship. It was, excuse me for saying it, it was funereal. And a guy stood next to me, and he turned to me—now I am trying my best to keep face. I’m the preacher, and I am trying. The guy leans over to me and says “When do we view the body?”
And I tell you something, you can feel the atmosphere damaging what God was trying to do because they were trying to show off their performance. And it wasn’t working. But when you are in your place, in your anointing, in your gifting, not only—I’m really sensitive in the fact that I believe worship does open that door—then you can walk in and do whatever God needs to do in that service.
BK:
Well, let me brag on Pastor Shane and Christy for just a minute.
LR:
Shane is her husband.
BK:
Shane is her husband. One of our dear friends is Marilyn Hickey.
LR:
Yes. She literally is like a mother to me.
BK:
She is. I think she’s a mother to the whole body of Christ. And, Marilyn, if you’re watching, we love you for that. She told us one of the things she loved about Pastor Shane and Christy, she said, “I love your prophetic sense to fill the atmosphere.” And, I’m telling you, that’s where the miracles are. They are literally just supernaturally bringing you in the praise and worship dimension. I’m telling you, they have been largely the instrument of helping to produce the anointing in the church. And we so love them for that because we’ve seen people healed. I mean—
CH:
Well, Pastor Hank and Pastor Brenda provide an incredible atmosphere to minister in anyway.
LR:
See, it is a hand and a foot and an eye. And, you know, your ushers were wonderful. Now my husband, Richard Roberts, when he’s praying, there’s—I want to call it a healing line. All I can tell you is, there were masses of people getting healed, and it was like, “Oh, mercy, what’s going on?” It was like a wave and a rush of healing.
BK:
Oh, we had a good time.
LR:
But you know what? It was so controlled. And the Holy Spirit was moving, and here are the ushers taking their rightful place and rightful seat of authority.
The Bible talks about doing things with decency and order. And I do believe that there is an order and a decency that when we follow the line upon line of the Bible, something begins to happen supernaturally. It’s like we open that wellspring and say, “Here’s a place where You can now take over, Holy Spirit.”
BK:
And there is a place, Lindsay, for every member of the body of Christ. You’re probably sitting at home and you’re thinking, What’s my part? I feel like the pinky toe, is my favorite saying, the pinky toe of the body of Christ. I’m not even sure I have an important part. No, you are supernatural. You have a supernatural anointing to do just as much. You are a part of the miracles of Jesus.
And so every one of us has that place. And when we get in our function—don’t try to be somebody else. You don’t have to. You’re supernatural by yourself.
LR:
Welcome to Make Your Day Count. I’m Lindsay Roberts, joined with Brenda Kunneman and Christy Hair. And today we’re going to tell you about life lessons that have to do with salmon and dill and mayonnaise and sour crème.
And what in the wide world does that have to do with The Supernatural You, the brand-new book by Brenda Kunneman? We’re not going to tell you. We’re going to show you. It’s going to be something. It started out a disaster, but we’re going to talk about divine interventions in the middle of a disaster.
If you need prayer, 918-495-7777. You can go on-line at Oral Roberts Ministry website, orm.cc, write Richard Roberts and Lindsay Roberts at Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74102, or like I said, go to the telephone, 918-495-7777.
LR:
Okay, we are back. And you know me—I love illustrated sermons. And we have an illustrated sermon about divine disruptions. Now what in the world does a divine disruption have to do with Brenda Kunneman and The Supernatural You and your sister Christy and a disaster in the kitchen?
BK:
Well, it’s one of the funniest stories. We were traveling out of town, and I was getting ready to do this dinner event for a friend of ours.
LR:
It was like a big-shot dinner. It was, it was a big-shot dinner. And so they wanted salmon. And so we were clear out of state, and I called Christy on the phone and I said, “I need a salmon recipe real quick.” She said, “That’s fine.” And she flipped to a book, and she really quickly said—I said, “I’m at the store.”
CH:
Picked up the first one I found.
BK:
She said, “Buy all these ingredients, and I’ll call you back.”
LR:
And that’s when the disaster began.
BK:
She said, “Buy these ingredients. I’ll call you back.” I said, “That’s fine.” Bought them all, called her later in this day when it was time to start preparing the event.
LR:
But without enough time to do something else.
BK:
Correct. And I said, “So what do I do?” And she starts to read the recipe, and she realizes it’s not a salmon dinner—it’s a dip. You don’t cook anything.
CH:
Yeah, no cooking involved whatsoever.
BK:
Right, there was no cooking involved. And so it’s a dip. Tell them what you told me to do.
CH:
Well, I didn’t tell her right away it was just a dip. So I went ahead and—
LR:
And she’s the worship leader, and she and her husband pastor the church in Omaha. So, needless to say, can we just say they’re both out of their element, okay?
CH:
So I went ahead and said, “Here’s what you’re going to do. You’re going to cook the salmon, and then all those other ingredients are going to make a fabulous sauce.” So she puts it all together, and I said, “Just call me and let me know how that goes for you.”
LR:
So I won’t say you were lying through your teeth. You were improvising, right?
CH:
I was improvising. I like that word.
BK:
So, anyway, I cooked the salmon. We put the sauce together—
LR:
Having no knowledge it’s a dip.
BK:
No knowledge. She wouldn’t tell me. You know, wonderful sister, she didn’t tell me.
LR:
Smart woman.
BK:
I can appreciate it. I’m mad at her now for it.
CH:
She knows now.
BK:
Yes, I know now. I put it all together, served it to these people, and they were like, “This is the best salmon we have ever had, hands down.
LR:
Meanwhile, you’re home sweating, right?
BK:
Yes, I’m home sweating. We didn’t have cell phones then. No, I let her sweat, so we’re going to make it for everybody.
LR:
So here’s what happened. And we’re going to give you the ingredients and share this because, here’s the thing, many times in our lives we get into a situation where we think, This is the biggest disaster of my life. Can God turn this mess into a miracle?
And so we were sitting at the table, and the reason why I wanted them to show you is, first, so you can have the recipe and see how simple a mess can turn into a miracle. And second of all, the reason I wanted to do this was, your husband Hank was sitting there and he looked at us and he went, “You mean that was never supposed to be a real recipe?”
BK:
We got it like from some gourmet recipe. He brags about it everywhere.
LR:
And it was truly a total and complete accident. I say that to say this—we’re going to talk about Supernatural You in just a minute. But in the meantime, we’re going to show you how to take this mess that turned into a miracle, and we’re going to show you the recipe because I told Brenda, “I want you to cook.” And she said, “I’ve got an idea.”
Well, this was the idea, and how you can take something that is nothing but lemons, literally, and turn it into lemonade. If you’re sitting there thinking about what mess you’re in, what mess you’ve become, what mess someone has thrown in your face, “How in the world can I turn this into a miracle?”—I’m not sure you can. But the supernatural power of God that resides within you can take the mess and turn it into a miracle.
So before we get into the book, come on, you guys. Submit the recipe. Do it. By the way, we sautéed it. In the back room we have this little stove back there, and we sautéed the salmon. Depending on the thickness of the salmon or how you like your fish cooked, we did it about seven to eight minutes total. If you like it more done, help yourself. If you like it less, help yourself.
BK:
This was in a little butter. Get it as brown as you like, and then basically what Christy has done is, she’s just cutting up some fresh dill. And then we’re going to use—how many ounces is this, Christy? This is about 16 ounces. And we’re going to use just the whole thing. And now here’s the thing, you could do this over a saucepan. It’s probably better because you really want to serve it hot. You could microwave it too. So that would be fine.
Basically, we’re just going to put the whole container—I am going to give that to you. That’s right.
LR:
And you came to my house for dinner and got the privilege of eating my husband, Richard Robnerts’, cooking.
CH:
And I tell you, that man could open his own restaurant. It’s the truth.
BK:
We’ve got just about a couple, three tablespoons of maybe mayonnaise, you know. And you know what? Here’s the thing about these ingredients, you really cannot almost not ruin it. You could mix different parts, depending on your taste, but this is mostly sour crème, a little bit of mayonnaise. And I think we’ve got maybe, oh, a third of a cup of looks like Half and Half or cream, heavy whipping cream. And then we’re going to mix this up.
LR:
It’s that simple.
BK:
It’s that simple.
LR:
You know, as a dip it might not have been so awesome. You did good, woman.
BK:
That’s true. And then we mix it up and get it smooth. You could use your beaters, I guess. It might be easier. And I’d give it a good mix. And then we’re going to heat it up. And they’ll squeeze lemons into it.
LR:
And that’s it.
BK:
Don’t get the lemons in your eye.
LR:
We sat at our kitchen table—actually, we had so many people in the room, we just starated laughing, and laughing turned into more laughing. And I tell you something, you know, first of all they got lost. And then as they got lost, my kids—I do not know how or why they did this, but they took one of my tape recorders. You know, her husband is Hank Kunneman, the man that is such a prophet to the nations. We love this man. And so when he comes around, we always have a tape recorder.
My kids started singing Christmas music on my tape recorder and turning it on high speed. So by the time dinner came, we were laughing so hard, we couldn’t contain ourselves. And, you know, I think that’s part of it. So many times we worry about the food, we worry about this, we worry about that. The most important thing is worrying about each other, and not necessarily worrying but I’m saying, be concerned about the people in the room. The rest kind of takes care of itself in so many ways.
So how much dill do you have in there?
BK:
A bunch. You can mix it up. It’s turning out to be about half a cup. A little bit of parsley, squeeze in some lemon. You want to kind of taste it to make sure you like it.
LR:
It certainly is pretty.
BK:
It’s beautiful. And then salt and pepper, a little bit of salt and pepper, and that is it. Now when you heat this, it’s a little bit softer.
LR:
But the original recipe was, what would you have done with the salmon, like chop it up and—
BK:
She never showed it to me.
LR:
Okay, never mind. Use your imagination. You know, Christy, I’m not going to call you—
BK:
No, she’ll leave you hanging out there.
LR:
The next time we have a party, we’re not calling you. Man, can this woman lead worship. Oh, Lord!
CH:
She’s a fabulous cook. Only she could have pulled this off.
BK:
So all you do is, you just want to, you know, spread it over just like that.
LR:
And that’s it.
BK:
We usually serve it with like basmati rice, buttered rice and some—
LR:
She’s going to get fancy on us.
CH:
She’s the gourmet.
LR:
Now I have to tell you, Hank admitted this was his favorite thing when she does the salmon, and had no idea it started out a bomb. It was a total disaster. So I tell you what, we’re going to talk about that in just a minute. We’re going to talk about taking what may by the world’s standards seem to be a total disaster and how God can take that mess and turn it into a miracle. Stay tuned. We’re going to be right back.
LR:
You know, I do want to encourage you to become a partner with this ministry, a joint partaker. If you look in the book of Philippians 4:13-19, it talks about Paul talking to the church at Philippi and that particular group of people. That was the group of people that he talked about saying, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
And to that particular group of people, he went on to talk about giving and receiving, sowing and reaping. And then as they sowed into his ministry, that particular group of people got to go to the next verse that said, “Now my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
That was not a scripture for the whole universe, although the whole universe could tap into it. That was a scripture for a particular group of people that became partners with his ministry, that sowed and understood that as they sow, they have a Bible right to reap. As they give, they have a Bible right that on the other end of that giving is receiving. And the receiving is what? The receiving is, “My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
I want to encourage you to become a partner with this ministry. You can pick up the phone and call the Abundant Life Prayer Group at 918-495-7777. You can sow a seed out of your need and say, “You know what? I’m going to plant this seed, believing that my God shall supply all of our need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
And as that begins to happen, I also want to encourage you, this precious woman called in and said, “I need a healing, and I’m sowing a $1,000 seed towards the healing of my daughter.” This is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It just came in.
This one in Saginaw, Michigan. Now Saginaw is just a few miles out of where I was born. I was born in Flint, Michigan. And this lady said she needed divine intervention in her business, so she’s sowing a seed of her business.
This in Detroit—oh, those Detroit Tigers! I grew up watching Detroit Tiger baseball from the time I was a young child. And in Detroit, this precious one called in, sowing a $25 seed, believing God for a miracle.
And I want to encourage you again, if you want the stress book, pick up the phone, call the number on the screen. I want to give this book to you. Because you know what? Lindsay Roberts needs to sow seed too, according to the Word of God.
Lots of people have called in with financial needs and have been sowing seeds. But I want to read a couple of these. This precious one called in from California and said her son needs his business to prosper.
This one called in from Arkansas and said, “Drug addiction with a grandchild.” You know what? We pray for the spirit of addiction to be broken off of that child and anybody else that has addictions that are not from God. We pray for addictions in any area, in the name of Jesus, to be broken.
In my life time I have never had addictions to something like drugs or alcohol or cigarettes. I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life. But you know what? Addiction, if you look up the dictionary definition of it is like a hook. And I pray for that hook to be released from people now.
Spirit of addiction, you take your filthy hands off of God’s property. You be set free from drugs or alcohol, anything that’s harmful to your body. And prescription drugs that are used properly, thank the Lord for that. But if there’s prescription drugs that are being abused improperly, in the name of Jesus, I pray, sweet one, for you to be set free.
You know, God calls us names like beloved and precious. And I pray for people who think they are unlovely and unloved right now. I pray for God to minister to you the very love of God himself.
Jesus in our Prince of Peace. That means nothing missing, nothing broken. And anything that’s missing and broken in your life, we pray right now for God who sent His Son Jesus into your behalf, for that God to work a miracle in your life, in Jesus’ name.
For this precious family in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, for financial needs. (Reading names) Cancer, in the name of Jesus, I speak to you directly. The Bible says we can speak to our mountain, according to Mark 11:23, and we can command that thing to be cast into the sea and not doubt in our heart, but believe the things that we say shall come to pass, it shall be as we say.
In the name of Jesus, I break the stronghold of cancer according to God’s Word and pray in the name of Jesus that cancer is rebuked. That means, stop it, that’s enough! In Jesus’ name.
There’s so many of these different names and needs here represented. (Reading names) This precious one, Timothy, is praying for a wife. And I’m in agreement, Father God, for You to send the perfect spouse, for people who are praying for their spouse. Lord God, I pray in the name of Jesus that people would find the perfect spouse, in Jesus’ name.
(Reading names) People are beginning to send Seed-Faith gift after Seed-Faith gift. And I tell you, I am believing—this precious one was $1,000. (Reading names)
Father God, right now in the name of Jesus, we lift up every need, every name, everything that is unlike God. And we ask You, my Father God, for divine intervention according to Your Word, in Jesus’ name.
Don’t forget, you can pick up your telephone. You can even go on makeyourdaycount.com. Now, listen, if you go on there on the website, normally this book is actually a book that’s for sale. But not today. I’m not selling it. I’m giving it to you. Call the Abundant Life Prayer Group. You can call for your prayer request. You can put up the number on the screen, that toll-free number, and get this book for free. Or you can write Richard Roberts and Lindsay Roberts, Tulsa, OK 74102. If you go on our website, makeyourdaycount.com, and want the book that says Overcoming Stress, it is my free gift to you.
And we pray for whatever it is that you’re going through right now, for God to heal you from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet, in Jesus’ name. Make it count.
LR:
You know, it’s just like what happened to Abner, I’m believing according to the Word of God that that same thing can begin to happen to you.
So right now, Father, in the name of Jesus, we just lift up every name, every need, every person that is asking for Your intervention right now, Father God. And we are calling for a miracle.
Father, in the name of Jesus, according to Your Word in Psalm 107:20 that says, “You sent your word and healed them and delivered them from their destruction,” and the scripture that says, “By the stripes that wounded Jesus, we’re healed and made completely whole.”
We apply the blood of Jesus to whatever situation that you’re facing right now, and we pray for God to intervene right now in your behalf, in the name of Jesus. We expect a miracle, in Jesus’ name.
You know, I think that I have a new favorite place on this campus at ORU here. I think my new favorite place is this spot right here in the Prayer Tower because you can just feel the presence of God. You can feel the anointing.
This precious lady right over here is praying against fibromyalgia. And this precious lady right here, you can see them, they’re all praying specifically for specific needs to be met.
And I want to lift up some names and needs right here. (Reading names) They go on and on and on. Right now in the name of Jesus, Father, we just lift up every name and every need. Lord God, You promised, “Be not deceived, God is not mocked. Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
And You said when you give in to the kingdom of God, it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over.
And according to the Word of God, we pray not only for spiritual miracles, we pray for physical miracles. We pray for your soul. That’s your mind, will, and emotions. And we pray for financial intervention. We pray for God to take the seeds that you are sowing and to honor His Word by multiplying it back to open the windows of heaven, pour out a blessing where there’s not room enough to receive it, and to rebuke the devourer for your sake. I am believing for that, in the name of Jesus, amen.
And don’t forget, I want to tell you, you can have the Overcoming Stress book. You can go on our website, makeyourdaycount.com. This book I wrote literally out of experience. It’s called Overcoming Stress. Take charge of the negative situations that come to attack you. Overcome them with the Word of God. Real simple, the way to overcome stress is the Word of God.
The telephone number is a free call, 866-870-6932, 866-870-6932. When the operator picks up the telephone and you tell that operator you want this book, tell them it’s my free gift to you. Or you can write Richard Roberts and Lindsay Roberts, Tulsa, OK 74102. And I want to send it so that you will be blessed and so God can intervene in the areas where you’re stressed out, and He can turn that stress into blessing, in Jesus’ name.
We’ve got a partners’ spot, and I’m praying that you will become a partner with this ministry. We love and appreciate our partners. You know, one scripture says a joint partaker. A partner is a joint partaker. As you sow into us, we sow into you, and we become partners together for the kingdom and the glory of God. So watch this message, and we’re going to be right back here from the Prayer Tower.
LR:
Hi. I’m Lindsay Roberts. And I’m on the campus live right now from Oral Roberts University. And I want to tell you, it is a beautiful day here at the Prayer Tower. A couple of days ago it was 46 degrees. It was windy. It was pouring rain, and now we’ve got a beautiful sunny day here on Oral Roberts University campus.
And we want to tell you, this is the day that the Lord has made, and we’re going to go into the Prayer Tower and we’re going to begin to pray for you. So stay tuned because we’re going to be right back.
LR:
Okay, we want to make sure you get this book, Overcoming Stress. I’m going to give you a toll-free number. And since I can’t read it up on the screen, I’m going to read it off this piece of paper—866-870-6932, 866—that’s toll-free—870-6932.
I want you to get this book as my gift to you. First of all, I want the privilege of planting seed into your life. And second of all, I believe this book can help you.
And I remember so vividly one day I was working on this, and how I felt overwhelmed and how I felt like, “Okay, this is crazy! I’m stressed out over a stress book.” And I realized, you know what? Sometimes we can get stressed out over the silliest things. But left unchecked, those silly things can get bigger and bigger and bigger.
I remember having a sermon one time where I took a little tiny piece of Saran wrap, just plastic wrap, and left by itself, it’s basically harmless. But if you let that Sarah wrap wrap you up round and round and round and round, pretty soon you’re completely bound up and wrapped up in something that may have been very harmless at first. But the more you give in to it and the more it wraps itself around you, the less able you are to move around and hear the Word of God and act on the Word of God.
And I realized that stress is a real live thing that is overwhelming people today. So this says, “Are you pressured, stressed, frustrated? Take charge of the negative situations.” Don’t let them take charge of you. You take charge of the negative situations that attack you. Overcome them with the Word of God.” It’s my gift to you. I want to give it to you. All you have to do is go to the website at makeyourdaycount.com, or 866-870-6932.
You know, we’ve been talking about doing this program live, and we’re live right now. It’s a little after two o’clock Tulsa time. That’s Central Time. And it’s Wednesday afternoon. And we’ve been getting prayers from the Abundant Life Prayer Group, prayer requests, as well as praise reports.
And this one called in, and the precious lady called in right when we went off the air on our program yesterday. And she said she called the Abundant Life Prayer Group for her daughter’s pregnancy, and she was having complications. Immediately after prayer, they called us right back and said the granddaughter delivered a healthy baby boy named Nathan. Praise the Lord for that.
Debbie called the Abundant Life Prayer Group for loneliness and depression. And she said her daughter had told them that she was always praying for other people, but God had never dealt with the depression in her life because she had never given it to God.
So she called for prayer, and they all began to ask and believe God for His intervention. After prayer, she called back to say God gave her her joy. The depression was gone. The loneliness is gone, and she said, “I just want you all to know I am praising the Lord.” Well, we are praising the Lord with you.
This lady called in and said her son-in-law Lee was diagnosed with cancer in his neck and called the Abundant Life Prayer Group for prayer. After prayer, he had surgery, went through treatment. And the doctors came back and said, “We want to stop the treatment. There is absolutely no need for the treatment. You are cancer-free.” Praise the Lord for that!
We’ve had lots and lots of different praise reports. But right now I want to stop, and I want to do two things. We talked yesterday, if you remember, about Malachi 3, where it said, “Bring all the tithe and offering into the storehouse.” Bring the tithe and offering in the place you’re being fed.
And then it said, “Prove me now,” God said, “see if I’ll not open you the windows of heaven, pour you out a blessing where there’s not room enough to receive it all, and I will rebuke the devourer for your sake.”
Your tithe and your offering is completely connected to God rebuking the devourer for your sake. Why is that? I don’t know. That’s what God wrote. He said when you bring the tithe in, He would open you the windows of heaven, pour you out a blessing where there’s not room enough to receive it, and rebuke the devourer for your sake. That’s the way God set it up.
So I want to show you what people have been doing as a result of that. They’ve been specifically naming their seed for a specific harvest, just as Malachi was saying.
In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, this precious woman called in and sowed $200 to believe God for her healing. Now is she trying to buy a miracle? Well, I don’t think they’re for sale. And if they are, I’m not sure what you’d charge—like what’s a cold cost? What’s cancer cost? That’s not how God set it up. He said, “When you bring your tithe as offering and seed unto God, he would open the windows of heaven, pour out a blessing where there’s not room enough to receive it, and rebuke the devourer for our sake.” And that’s what this precious woman is doing. (Reading names)
In Ohio, $25 seed for financial miracles. You know, that seems so, to the world’s system, to the natural system, seems so silly. When you need finances, why would you give what finances you have? Because God said very clearly in Luke 6:38, when you give it would be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. And I believe the Bible. I believe the Word of God.
So if you want to plant a seed, if you’d like information about that, call the Abundant Life Prayer Group, 918-495-7777. Or you can write Richard Roberts and Lindsay Roberts, Tulsa, OK 74102. In fact, if we go to a Living Proof right now, while we’re doing that, I want to go into the Abundant Life Prayer Group, where we’re going to stand with those prayer partners and begin to pray for you. So stay tuned because we’re going to be right back.
LP: Abner Torres, Orlando, FL
BRAD:
With some 50 million tourists each year, Orlando is one of the world’s top vacation spots. In fact, only Las Vegas tops Orlando when it comes to US cities with the most hotel rooms. That’s where Abner Torres comes in. He owns an employment agency here in Orlando where he finds jobs for people mostly in the hotel and service industry.
AT:
I’m sending you a qualified person just right now, one that you need right now.
BRAD:
Not long ago though, Abner’s livelihood and life came to a screeching halt after he had a bad fall in his home.
AT:
And when I fell down on the floor, suddenly I could not move. From the lower part down, I couldn’t move anything. It was a very bad fall because I wasn’t able to move nothing, nothing. I couldn’t even move not even my feet or my toes, nothing.
The ambulance came and took me to Florida Hospital. And there they did some testing.
BRAD:
The doctor told Abner that he twisted his back, injuring the nerves in his lower spine. He then told Abner he would never walk again.
AT:
I kind of didn’t believe that, but then I asked another opinion from another doctor. And the other doctor said the same thing, I would never walk again.
BRAD:
Doctors at the hospital told Abner an operation was his only chance to restore any feeling or movement to his legs and feet. But Abner said doctors gave him no guarantees.
AT:
The doctor said I had to go for an operation. And the doctor said, “We’ll give you a 30 percent of recovering, just 30 percent after the operation.” They wanted to break my spine again and be able to put things together again. But he would not give me a promise on that. He said, “You might have a 30 percent chance.”
BRAD:
Abner didn’t like the odds he was given. But without the operation, he knew he’d need a miracle if he was to ever walk again.
So one night from his hospital bed, he was flipping through the channels and came across The Hour of Healing.
AT:
Every night what I would do, I would put the TV on on Oral Roberts.
RR:
In the authority of Jesus’ name, I pray the prayer of faith. Now listen to me. Let me give you the Bible tonight. The Bible says, “The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise them up.”
AT:
He talked about the healing, you know, God’s healing, you know,
He’s the only person that you can go to. So that gave me like more strength, you know, when I heard him talking.
BRAD:
Abner also called in and had a prayer cloth sent to him.
AT:
I use to put the prayer cloth that they send me, and I put it on my back and my legs.
BRAD:
He watched Richard and Lindsay for several nights from his hospital bed, when he decided to call the Abundant Life Prayer Group.
AT:
When I called them, I started feeling a little warm on me and I started moving my toes, then moving my legs. So I said, “Thank God, you know, I’m getting healed,” you know. And then I started thanking God and praising the Lord, you know. And I know that God was healing me, you know, because I started moving my legs.
BRAD:
The next day, Abner couldn’t wait to show his doctor how he could move his legs and feet.
AT:
The doctor came again, and asked me, you know, how I feel. But I told him, you know, that I was starting to move a little bit, you know. And he said to me, “You will never walk again. I’m sorry to tell you.”
BRAD:
Abner though refused to be discouraged, and little by little he kept getting more feeling and movement in his legs. A month later he could walk with a walker. Six months after that, he started walking all by himself. And today Abner says his legs and back are healed by God.
AT:
It’s a miracle! It’s a miracle. It’s a miracle! I couldn’t even stand up. I thank God for this ministry. That program gave me courage and hope. That was the only hope I had because I had nobody else to turn to. The doctor could not do nothing for me. The doctor gave me no alternative. The doctor gave me no alternative whatsoever.
The only source that I would have is the man upstairs, the healing for man, Jesus. When man says no, God says yes.

LR: You know, it’s just like this gentleman who knew Christ, he knew all about Him, but he decided–he said, “I made a decision to put God in the background.” We can make a decision that we know all about God but we don’t want anything to do with Him. But God is so real and He wants to help us and He wants us to serve Him and have abundant life. But if we make the decision to put God in the background, then there’s nothing God can do. We tie God’s hands. And right now, in the name of Jesus, let’s untie God’s hands so God can work a miracle for us. Father, right now, in the name of Jesus, I pray for anyone who is backslidden or who has never known Jesus Christ as their Savior before, in the name of Jesus, I ask you right now repeat this prayer after me–Father God, I pray and repent of my sins. I ask You to forgive me. I know I’m a sinner and I’m sorry. And I repent right now. I take Jesus Christ as my Lord and my personal Savior. I ask You to help me never to do the sins again. And, Father, work a miracle for my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
RR: Friend, if you meant that prayer away down in your heart, Jesus is entering your life right now. Just before I pray a healing prayer, I have a little book here called HOW TO LIVE YOUR NEW LIFE. If you meant that prayer, Jesus has entered your heart and you have a brand-new life. And I’d like to send you this book, HOW TO LIVE YOUR NEW LIFE. If you’ll just write me, Richard Roberts, Tulsa, Oklahoma, I’ll put it into the mail. It’s free, there’s no obligation, and I know it will be a blessing to you. Now, in the name of Jesus, I stretch out my hands to pray the prayer of faith for you. I come against the sickness and the disease in your body and I pray for you to be delivered from the oppression and depression of the devil. I command that thing that’s unlike God to come out of your life, in the mighty name of Jesus. And I pray for you to be healed, delivered, and set free. Through Jesus’ mighty name. Now sit up tall. Stand up tall. Expect a miracle to happen in your life. And I believe it’s beginning now, in the name of Jesus. Praise God. ORU Singers, are you about ready to sing? They’re going to sing a beautiful song called “We Are Persuaded.” We are persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor any power, nor anything above or below can separate me–notice that word–can separate me from the love of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. Singers, are you about ready? Let’s give them a good handclap as they sing from the Bible, “We Are Persuaded.” (Applause)

LR: God is so good, if we just allow Him to be good. This person talks about knowing God but slipping away. He said–this is a gentleman in Chicago and he said, “God is a healing God and I’m proof of that. I was in a car accident last summer and I ruptured the discs in my back. I know it sounds like a small problem, but I’ve never felt so much pain in all of my life. I had a terrible limp, and sleep was almost impossible. I was a Christian, but I decided to put God in the background.” But he said he decided that. How about that. “But when the pain became unbearable, I decided the only thing I could cry out to was God and I needed God’s help. The following morning I was changing channels and I came across your program. You said that God was there for us and He hears our cry for help. You began to pray for people’s healing and I felt an electric shock touch my back. God healed me that morning.” That’s right. “And I rededicated my life to Him. Now I praise God and I’m serving God with all of my life. And I’m so glad that God loves me in spite of all my faults.”
RR: Lindsay, let’s just have prayer. Let’s just have prayer right now. (Amen) Someone watching this program who does not know Jesus as their Savior–yeah, yeah–and the Lord’s healing somebody in their right leg right now. Knee, the kneecap that you’ve injured is being healed right now, being healed right now. You know, Lindsay, the other day my dad and Jim Winslow, who is the head of the City of Faith, and I were talking and praying together. And we joined hands to pray. And as Dr. Winslow was praying, the Lord gave me a word of knowledge. And I instantaneously by the Spirit of God knew that Jim had had a problem in his wrist. Now I didn’t know anything about it, but the Lord showed me. And while we were praying, God completely healed his wrist. He had had some trouble with his wrist, and God healed it all. And I know that there’s no distance in prayer. What God did for Jim Winslow just the other day, He can do in your life as we pray. Lindsay, first of all, I want to pray for those who don’t know Christ. I’m going to ask you to lead the prayer and then I’ll pray.

RR: Excuse me a minute. (Kiss)
LR: Thank you. Oh, you’re so sweet. (Applause) You’re so sweet. He was so sweet. He brought me popsickles this morningfor breakfast.
RR: She had a popsickle for breakfast. These pregnant women will eat anything and everything. This is a letter–
LR: Say you’re sorry
RR: You’re sorry. Now I’m leaving tomorrow, Lindsay, so have mercy on me. By the way, be sure and be watching the program tomorrow. We’re going to have a, we’re going to have–Terry and Jackie Mize, I believe, are going to be guests tomorrow. Is that right? Terry and Jackie Mize. And tomorrow we’ll tell that story again about her tape on supernatural childbirth. But the reason I mentioned that is because tomorrow Billy Joe and Sharon, who are not with us today but who will be with us tomorrow, Billy Joe and Sharon and Terry and Jackie Mize, ministers of the gospel who just recently returned from India, will be our guests. And tomorrow they’re going to anoint me with oil for my crusade in Australia. Tomorrow is my final day as I’m preparing now to leave. And then Lindsay and Billy Joe and Sharon will be hosting the program until I return. And Lindsay’s not going with me to Australia. She’s staying at home and taking care of little Jordan Lindsay. And by the time–I expect her to be two weeks bigger, you know, by the time.
LR: That will be easy for me.
RR: By the time we get back.
LR: I kind of grow pretty fast.
RR: But here’s a letter from Fort Benning, Georgia. That’s a military town. “Dear Richard, I’ve been healed and God gets all the praise. I broke my collarbone in a boating accident and I couldn’t move for many weeks. After a year the bone still caused me quite a bit of pain. I spent hundreds of dollars on specialists, but the relief I got was only temporary. I didn’t know what to do next because the pain began to spread into my lower back. I was miserable and I knew the devil was getting his kicks by causing me all this pain and discomfort. Then a friend told me about your TV program and God worked a miracle for me. You were reading testimonies one morning and you stopped when the Lord gave you a word of knowledge that someone suffering from their neck down was being healed. By the close of that program, I was moving and doing things I had not been able to do for the entire past year. I am now healed. Praise God for His grace and His healing power.” (Applause) Isn’t that a wonderful testimony?

RR: Praise God for health checks, Lindsay.
LR: …crackers.
RR: Are you eating a cracker?
LR: I was. cracker, but she likes Saltines. (Yes) Somehow pregnant women like Saltines, is that right? Any of you women been pregnant–
LR: This one had peanut butter on it.
RR: –and you eat Saltines crackers, nod your head. Any of you men ever been pregnant, raise your hand. No, don’t raise your hand. I’m just kidding. Lindsay said, “You’re having the next baby.” I said, “I’ve got news for you, I’m not either.”
LR: I’ve had a bad case of the yuckies, but it’s going to get better. It will get better.
RR: She’s been eating Saltine crackers. Wayman, did you know my wife’s pregnant again? Now you know. Now you know. Here is a testimony (O.K.) from San Antonio, Texas. “I’ve had pain in my neck and in my back, but as I watched your program when you prayed the prayer of faith, I received a healing. I’ve had pain for several days and then all of a sudden it left when you prayed.” And here’s another testimony from, let’s see, this is from Georgia. “I had a problem with my ear, an ear infection. My left ear was completely closed up, but when you prayed on the program the other day all of the hearing perfectly normal.” (Applause) Praise God for that. Do you want to share one, Lindsay.
LR: I have a precious letter from a lady that, I tell you, she needed a miracle and the Lord provided one. She said, “I want to tell you about the miracle Jesus has worked in my life through your ministry. I had a severe case of arthritis in both of my hands for over three years. Every doctor I went to did their best, but nothing helped. Well, the pain remained and it got so bad that I had to sit for hours and I’d even sit down and cry. Writing became impossible and I finally accepted the fact that I would never get any better.” Boy, Dr. Jesus doesn’t accept that, does He? He’s got a miracle. (Applause) “One morning I was sitting in my living room and your program came on. I felt as if God was speaking to me when you said, ‘Friend, God wants you healed.’” That’s just how God feels, isn’t it? “You said we were children of God and the devil had to take his hands off God’s property. I began to weep with joy and I decided right then to claim my healing.” Now that’s what we need to do, decide to claim our healing. And she said, “At that very moment, Richard had a word of knowledge that someone was being healed from arthritis. I was delivered instantly on the spot. God healed my hands. There is no more arthritis.” And she said, “I know God can always do the impossible.” (Applause) Hallelujah, that’s exciting. You know, we’ve got to believe that God will heal us and that the impossible is possible with God.
