CPS:  Three full wonderful days.  They will be back Wednesday night in time for their church, but all today and tomorrow and Wednesday, all the pastors–well, just about, there’s so much power here because there’s so many pastors here with power.

LR:  That’s right, the Lord is really going to do a wonderful thing. I really believe that.  When ministers, evangelists, pastors, apostles, prophets of God get together and minister the Word of God, I really believe something’s going to happen. (That’s right.)  Amen. Amen.  (Applause)  Well, in a minute Rhonda’s going to be with us, but right now the ORU Singers are ready to sing a wonderful song, “This Is the Day That the Lord Has Made.”  Let’s give them a welcome as they sing.  (Applause)

ORUS:  Singing “This Is the Day”  (Applause)

LR:  Amen.  You know, Richard wrote this commentary out of the hurts and the needs of his heart and also the things in the Bible that ministered to him the most.  The Four Gospels and the book of Acts really came alive to Richard while he was writing this, and he was recalling all the things that touched his life and touched his ministry, the Scriptures that led him to salvation, the Scriptures that taught him on healing.  And, you know, as you look over your life, especially being the son of a man like Oral Roberts, and knowing these Scriptures and having them burned into your heart and seeing the miracles of God come alive as you go through your childhood and to turn around and write about how these Scriptures touched Richard’s The best part about the Four Gospels and the Book of Acts, the way Richard wrote the Commentary is so you can understand it, so you can read it.  It’s not long, it’s not theological.  It’s just a man’s version of what the Bible meant to him and how the Bible came alive in his life.  And I really believe it will be a help to you.  So if you really want to understand the Four Gospels and the Book of Acts, just write for the Commentary today.  I really believe it’s a blessing.

CPS:  Oh, yes, and there’s so many people that do not understand. You read the Word and especially if you’re a new Christian or you haven’t really been in the Word.  Maybe you’ve been a Christian for several years but you haven’t been in the Word.  And it doesn’t make sense to you when you read it and so you put it back down.  And you pick it back up and you want to read and have such a desire, but you cannot understand it.  Well, Richard has made it simple enough and he’s explained it so normally, every day, and that’s what God–you know, it’s written from a time that at that point was everyday language. (That’s right.)  But now it’s not so everyday and when we read it it doesn’t always make sense to us.  But Richard has explained it, and it will make sense to you.  And so it will help you.  It will help you.

Encourage Me to Say the Word by Richard Roberts

And do you know, Chris, you’re talking better every day? How does that make you feel? Connie, what is the, what is the dream that God’s placed in your heart about speech therapy at the City of Faith.

Well, I think the most important aspect of ministering at the City of Faith for me as a professional has been to be in a holistic setting where I can tell people the truth and I can introduce the spiritual aspect of any kind of communication problem. And I work with people who stutter and people who have had a stroke and people who are under a lot of stress because of a communication problem, particularly in adults.

Are you seeing results, Connie? Oh, yes, yes. We’re obviously seeing results with Chris. Mostly spirit changes, but mind changes. And then we see the body change as we deal with the whole person. We see a whole change. And Chris was just, he is just an example of what God is doing at the City of Faith when we bring a spiritual dimension into what was usually a secular intellectual endeavor and we’ve been able to overlay that with the things of the Spirit. And his Scripture, he felt that that Scripture really turned him around, to be faithful. Scripture turned you around?

Yeah. You did? It just helped me, it encouraged me when she, when my speech teacher told me that Scripture, I didn’t know that was in the Bible. And it just encouraged me. It gave me encouragement to say my sound at school. But when I first came to the City of Faith, she taught me how to say my sound but I wasn’t saying it at school because I was afraid that people would laugh at me and everything. And then she told me that Scripture that she had found in the Bible and it just gave me encouragement to say my speech at school, at home, and everywhere else out of the City of Faith.

Chris, let me ask you a question. Somebody might be watching this program today who has trouble talking. Maybe it’s a little boy, maybe it’s a little girl, maybe it’s an adult, maybe it’s someone who is a mom or a dad or maybe a teenager or somebody who’s watching the program who has had some trouble speaking. Maybe they stutter or maybe they have some difficulty with R’s and they need help and they need to come to the City of Faith.

RR: You’ve got one, you’re taking him to the doctor and you’ve got another one you’re carrying.

KN: One checking into the hospital. But I’ll tell you, I was so thankful, even though with all the bad and the doctor, the sure that it was. We went to the hospital to do all the testing, but we were so thankful for our background, that we knew that God is a God of miracles and nothing is impossible for God. (Applause)

RR: So what happened?

KN: So what happened, this story ends good. But we got up in that bed with our two-year-old and prayed and held hands, and when two or more agree upon touching one thing–it wasn’t just the two of us. We had a lot of people praying too, a lot of friends and family and our grandma and grandpa who is pastor of the church in Broken Arrow, Assembly of God Church in Broken Arrow for 40 years, James and Francine Dodd. (Yes) They got on their knees. They’re prayer warriors. They know how–

RR: Broken Arrow is just a few miles from where we are right now. It’s about 10 or 12 miles.

KN: And they flew in and were with us. And we just knew, even though we were going through all the tests and that was very scarey. You know, when it comes to your child it’s very scarey to see a little two-year-old go through that. But we just knew that God had touched him and we had faith in Him. And ten days after that–we got out of the hospital in four days, and ten days after that we went back for a checkup. Bone marrow perfect, blood count is perfect. Has been ever since. It’s been over a year and a half. And we just had a checkup last Thursday, and he would have been here today but our plane was so late last night, the little thing was just sacked out this morning. So I didn’t get him up. But he’s a pill. He’s full of energy and healthy as a horse, and we give all the glory to God. (Applause)

BN: I want to tell you something else too. When you all were going through your time, we were praying for you. And I’ve come so close, when we thought leukemia used to mean death for a child, and they say that most marriages after that dissipate too because the parents watch their child just slowly die. But thank God that He took and had mercy on us and thank God that you all got this beautiful little Jordan now.

LR: Our little miracle.

BN: And I’m so thankful and I’m so glad to see you be able to talk about it, Richard. I don’t know that I could handle that. I guess I could, grace would be sufficient.

Heaven Came Down by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts wants to share something to you. We’re looking for the same kind of a nurse, a nurse who wants to be a part of a healing team. We are a healing team at the City of Faith. It’s as important what Melanie does or David does as it is what I do. It’s not important that I’m a physician, she’s a nurse, or David is a prayer partner. What’s important is that we’re a team connected together through the love of God to deliver all of God’s healing power to you as a patient.

So if you’re a nurse or perhaps you’re a minister who really feels called to do something different, or a physician, this is a place where you can do something different. You can minister to the whole person. We want you to come and join us. You can call the Prayer Group and give them your number and they’ll get it to me or they’ll get it to the nurse recruiting group or they’ll get it to Duie Jernigan in charge of the prayer partners. We are making a difference in people’s lives and we want you to come join us.

Praise God for that. Someone is receiving a healing in your right wrist, even right now while we’re talking. The Spirit of God is SU03 moving in this program today. My special guests today are Ken and Lynette Hagin. Ken and Lynette’s son Craig had a fantastic experience through prayer and medicine here at the City of Faith, and I’m going to ask them to share that story, a real life testimony of what God did for a young man here at the City of Faith.

Jim and Melanie and David, God bless you. Right now Richard Roberts is  going to introduce the Oral Roberts University Singers who are going to minister in song. And they’re going, what are you going to sing? Can’t hear you? “Heaven Came Down.” Lindsay, what did that woman say in her letter the other day, she said, “I watched”, I wish I had a copy of that. “I watched your program and”, do you have it in my Bible?

Baby of Faith by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts: Well, she cries every once in a while. She cries when you
change her pants.

LR: That’s the only time she cries. Don’t tell that, she’ll
live to be embarrassed.

RR: Jordan Lindsay was the 376th baby born here in the
childbirth center here at the City of Faith, but now, you know,
it doesn’t just stop just because Richard Roberts and Lindsay have a baby
up there. It goes on. Now 407 babies have been born in the
childbirth center.

LR: The girls are way ahead.

RR: No, the boys are ahead. The boys are ahead.

LR: Sounded good.

RR: 218 boys and 189 girls, the boys are still ahead. So we had
a little girl so the little girls could catch up a little bit.

LR: That’s right, I told you I would.

RR: Jordan Lindsay is fine. She’s at home and I’m certainly
glad that Lindsay is back on the program. She was off for nearly
two weeks resting and recuperating and slimming down.

LR: That’s right, working on it.

RR: Well, we’re here live in front of the City of Faith.
Lindsay, this is the first program we’ve done outside.

LR: That’s right. It’s interesting. But it sure is inspiring
with the hands to the left of us and the City of Faith behind us.

RR: What’s interesting is how slim you’re getting.

LR: Oh, you’re so sweet. I’ll give you a kiss for that.

RR: I receive that. (Thank you) If you hadn’t heard, when I
came in this morning a woman said, “When are you and Lindsay
going to have that baby?” I said, “Haven’t you heard? We had a
little girl two weeks ago yesterday. Little Jordan Lindsay was
born, eight pounds, six ounces. But I’ve got good news, she doesn’t weigh eight pounds, six ounces anymore. She’s
eating like a horse.

LR: Now, Richard.

RR: And growing and growing and growing. Last night I was
feeding her and–

LR: She’s big.

RR: And she was big and she was doing all those things that
babies do. You know, she has a certain sound that she makes–

LR: She doesn’t cry, she just sort of moans.

One day in the mail Richard Roberts and I received an unusual gift from a Partner of the Ministry. It was a can of Lindsay pitted olives. I thought it was a hilarious and thoughtful gift, but it also started me to thinking.

To begin with, olives have a pit for a purpose. The pit is the heart of the olive the part that connects it to the tree so it can grow. But once an olive is picked, the pit has served its purpose. And in order to make a can full of easy-to-eat olives, the pits have to be removed. Their time of usefulness is over, so the olive can be canned, sold, and eaten.

We can learn a spiritual lesson from a can of pitted olives. Sometimes we hang on to the past or the wrong things and we won’t let go. We won’t release things when it’s time. Maybe it was great for a season, but if that season is over, it’s time to let go.

Maybe you’ve experienced a radical change in your life. You’ve lost a relationship, a job, or something else that meant a lot to you. But that relationship, that job, or that way of life may have just been for a season. Its purpose in your life may be over, just like the purpose of a pit is eventually over in the life of an olive. Be willing to release it and move forward with God to the next assignment He has for you.

Jesus said, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God (Luke 9:62). Like the pits in the can of olives I received, we must let go of the past and put some tings behind us in order to fulfill God’s call on our lives just like Richard Roberts.

At the end of every work week, you’re apt to hear someone say, “Thank God, it’s Friday!” Some people even start out on Monday thinking, If Richard Roberts can just make it to Friday. But there’s one Friday that’s better than all the rest. It’s the Friday before Resurrection Sunday…and it’s come to be known as Good Friday.

It didn’t look very good!

Good Friday was the day when Jesus’ hands and feet were nailed to a cross. It’s the day when our Lord was beaten beyond recognition, and had a spear thrust into His side. It’s the day when Jesus died on a cross. What we call Good Friday looked like a terrible day for Jesus and His disciples. It was a day when the air turned cold and the sky turned black at noonday. It was a day when hopes for the future were dashed to the ground. It looked like a day to end all days!
In Jesus’ time of greatest need, His disciples ran away and deserted Him, afraid to even acknowledge knowing who He was. And, for a time, the Bible says that God himself even turned His back on His Son Jesus (Matthew 27:46). What’s so good about Good Friday? The fact that Jesus went to the Cross in our place. The One who knew no sin became sin for us so that, through the power of His resurrection, we could be set free from sin’s evil power (2 Corinthians 5:21). He took the stripes on His back…so that we could be healed from sickness and disease (1 Peter 2:24). When you understand the purpose for Jesus’ dying on the Cross, there’s plenty that’s good about Good Friday!

Sunday was on its way!

The cross was a terrible, agonizing experience for the Lord. But Jesus knew that if He didn’t go to the Cross, there would be no salvation for all mankind. There would be no healing for you and me. There would be no miracles. There would be no Resurrection. The miraculous power of the Cross would never take place. Jesus endured the Cross for a reason—because of the joy that was set before Him, Hebrews 12:2 tells us—because He knew Resurrection Sunday was coming!
On Sunday morning, Jesus burst forth from the grave, breaking the bonds and power of death. Through His death and resurrection, He had defeated satan and his power over our lives once and for all. Colossians 2:15 NIV says God disarmed the evil rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross of Christ.

And because Jesus lives, we can live also. Through the power of His resurrection we can have the abundant life that He wants us to have, by receiving Him into our lives as our Lord and Savior.

Jesus came for you

If you’ve never given your heart to Jesus and asked Him to take control of your life, I want to invite you to do so now. Romans 10:9 says, If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Just pray this simple prayer with me: Lord, I know that I am a sinner. I, Richard Roberts, repent of my sins, and I ask You to forgive me. Come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I give you my life, and I ask You to make it into something beautiful.

Thank You for sending Your Son Jesus Christ to die for me and Your Holy Spirit to live inside of me. And most of all, thank You for saving me and giving me eternal life with You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

If you prayed that prayer from your heart, you are now a new creation in Christ. What this means is that those who become Christians become new persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun! (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT).

You are what’s so good about Good Friday!

One night I was so exhausted that I climbed into bed about 9 o’clock. I’m a night owl. My regular bedtime is in the wee hours of the morning unlike Richard Roberts, so going to bed that early was highly unusual. But I was so tired that I fell asleep before anyone else.

My mother called the next morning and said, “I couldn’t go to sleep last night…you didn’t call me like you normally do.” Mom was right. I call her every evening to talk to her and pray with her, and I hadn’t done it that night. The absence of our regular communica-tion gave both of us a strange feeling.

Even though I’m a grown woman, my mother and I like having daily contact with each other. In the same manner, I believe our heavenly Father wants us to communicate with Him on a regular basis. No matter what our age, we are His children, and He loves us. He wants us to take time to talk with Him, and He misses us when we don’t keep in touch with Him.

Maybe you feel as if you don’t know how to communicate with God. A good way to open up a line of communication with Him is to praise Him. Turn in your Bible to the Psalms. Use Psalm 103:1: Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Start with that verse and build on it. When you begin to fellowship with the Father regularly, you establish a relationship with Him like you’ve never had before just like Richard Roberts, and you begin to look forward to your daily communication together

Straighten up, every bit of scoliosis come out!  I’ll tell you, the power of God!  Remember the scripture where Jesus was in a house, and He was preaching and the place was filled, and the Bible says the power of the Lord was present to heal!  The power of the Lord is present right now.  This is the calling of God in my life.  This is why we’re on TV.  This is why this ministry was birthed in 1947.  I’m setting my faith with you.

Now, here’s what I want you to do.  The first thing I want you to do is lift your hands, and begin to give God praise and rejoice, and thank Him now for that which is beginning.  And after you praised Him, I want you to go to your telephone.  I want you to call the Abundant Life Prayer Group.  That’s right, 918-495-7777, or I want you to email me at, or I want you to write me and I want you to tell me what’s going on.  I want to share the testimony on television.  This is the way I’m gonna be praying when I get to West Palm Beach.  You folks down in Florida, on the east coast between Miami, and up all the way up into Stewart and Pierce, don’t miss, don’t miss that Saturday morning meeting.  This is what God wants to do.

Just as surely as Jesus turned water into wine, just as surely as He healed the son of the nobleman, just as surely as He healed my little daughter Chloe when she was two years of age, just as surely as He healed the military aide of the Roman Centurion, just as surely as He healed little Emily Dia from Hayden, Alabama, just as surely, He can do a miracle right now!  Now, so now, in the name of Jesus, I send His Word to you!

Whatever you’re doing, stop for just a minute.  Come on over to the television, come on.  It’s just you and me, right in the middle of what you’re going through; just you, and me, and God.  That’s a majority by the way.  In Jesus’ name, now I take authority over every sickness, and every disease, and anything that has come against you, and that would be something from the devil.  I curse it.  Watch now.  I take hold of it with my faith, and I pull it out of you.  Cancer, you’ve got to come out.  Fear and doubt, you’ve got to come out.  Incurable disease, go!  I speak to tumors and growths, and cancers.  I speak to stomachs, and kidneys, and livers, and gall bladders, and colons.  I speak to lungs.  I speak to feet and legs.  I speak to crookedness.  I speak to inflammation.  I speak to infection.  I speak to the problem in your heart, in your blood pressure, in your blood sugar, with your kidneys.  I speak to the mass, the tumor, the growth.  In the name of Jesus, come out right now!  And I set my faith with you.  And I’ll tell you, people all across the network are feeling the touch of God right now.  I set my faith with you, and I’m not turning loose until that miracle comes in Jesus’ name.
