That way, when people say to you, “When did you get the Holy Spirit?”  “Well, I got Him when I got saved.”  I didn’t have to go out and get Him after I was born again.  I didn’t have to roll under the piano.  I didn’t have to tarry for six hours on my back.  He came in.

When I got saved, the moment I repented of my sins and believed on Jesus, the Holy Spirit came in.  Now you got a picture of that?  So if you think, Well, I’m a Christian but I don’t have the Holy Spirit, that’s not true.  You have the Holy Spirit if you’re born again.  Every born-again believer has the Holy Spirit.

Now you may have not yet allowed Him to speak through you.  You may not yet been baptized in the Holy Spirit.  You may not have recognized who you have inside.  But you have Him.

And this could very easily be illustrated by a story.  The Jones family—everybody say, the Jones family—the Jones family has invited the Smith family for dinner, okay?  Mrs. Jones is in the kitchen fixing dinner, and the doorbell rings.  It’s a quarter till six.  They’re not supposed to be there until six, but they’re early.

She looks out the window and sees that the Smiths have arrived.  Dinner’s not ready.  She says to her husband, “Would you please go out and bring them in and stay with them there in the front.  I’m not quite yet ready to receive them.”  You with me?

So Mr. Jones goes out and brings them into the front room, and they sit down.  And she’s back in the back in the kitchen fixing dinner.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Brown telephones.  “Have the Smiths arrived?”

“Yeah, they’ve just arrived.  My husband has them out in the front room, but I’m still fixing dinner.  I have not yet gone out to receive them.”

I’m going to ask Lindsay if she’ll pray a prayer over all of you right now, and this prayer is going to be for all practical purposes our dismissal prayer, except we’re not dismissed. It’s not over till it’s over.  And it’s not over till we lay hands on you.

But after you go through the line, it may look like a combat zone around here.

LR: I hope so.

RR: Which is all right.  So you may want to bring your things with you; you may want to leave them at your seat and go back to your seat and get them afterwards.  Or you can bring your things with you and go through the line.  But this laying on of hands will be the closing thing that happens.

And all my growing up years, I remember how I would go to my father’s crusade, and his custom was, on the last day of the crusade, if anyone had not had hands laid on them, and they desired it, he would do it.  And they would have a formal time of prayer like we’re going to do in a moment, and then he would walk those lines and pray.  And that was the dismissal itself.  And so he found a method that worked.  And I found a method that worked. And so that’s what we’re going to do this a.m.  And the ushers will be directing you in a moment.

Lindsay, I want you to begin to pray.  Lift your hands unto the Lord where you are right now.  This is going to take a little while.  Nothing really good comes quickly.  So let’s don’t be in a hurry, don’t be in a rush.  There’s no shortage of anointing.  And Lindsay and I are going to lay hands on you until we’re through.

“And in the supreme moment when Israel’s fall could have been prevented, Jeremiah’s anointed and timely preaching rose like a thundercloud while the people covered their ears so as not to hear.”

We’ve got a lot of people sitting in church, we’ve even got a lot of preachers sitting in church covering their ears, covering their eyes, covering their mouth.  Because they want to preach, but they don’t want to do.  There is no preaching.  It’s time to do.  If you preach it long enough, it’s going to start happening. But nothing stopped Jeremiah because he loved the Lord, and he loved God’s people so much that he could not rest.

When you love God’s people so much that you can’t rest, when you give of yourself, when you give of your time, when you give of your things, and you give of your money, when you love the unlovely?.  You know, it’s one thing for me to give my time and give my money.  My time’s hard to give; my money’s easier to give.

I’d rather give you 50 cents than 15 minutes.  I’m sorry, that may sound crazy.  But I have very little time.

But I’ll tell you something, when I give you my prayers, that’s when you’ve got me.  There are people in this room right here today that I have sacrificed sleep over.  And when I say that, I get very little sleep to begin with. I have three teenage daughters and one baby.  My baby’s 55.  That’s enough right there. Enough said.

Full-time job, two TV programs, ministry, and everything else that comes along the way.  So if I give you my prayers, that means that I’ve taken my prayer time away from my family.  And if I put you above my family’s prayers, you’ve got my heart.  And I’d rather give you my time or my money than give you my heart.

My mother-in-law will tell you, sitting right there, she knew I couldn’t talk in front of people.  Richard would hold my hand, and I’d vomit.  The first time he introduced me in chapel, he held my hand; he dragged me out.  I’ll never forget it because I was wearing a powder blue suit.  He dragged me out on the stage to introduce me.  And when he let go of my hand, I ran off, I got in my car, I drove out the city; I called my mom and said, “I’m getting a plane ticket home to Florida.  I quit.”  And I was married.

I took the blue suit, and I burned it.  I never wanted to be reminded of that day.

He made me do national television on a live daily TV show. And Billy Joe Daugherty was the co-host of it.  And I would sit there, pregnant, big as the side of a house, and the commercial would come on, and as the commercial would come on, I had a puke bucket, and I’d vomit, I’d chug Emitrol (sp?), and then we’d come back, and I’d smile.

And I did this over and over and over, until I finally got to the place where I said, “I can’t do this any more.  This won’t work.  I can’t do this anymore.”

And while I was pregnant, I used to get extreme migraine headaches.  And when I’d get these horrible headaches, I finally got to the place I’d use those as my crutch.  And I told Richard,  ”You know, I am of no value to you.  You have the anointing.  You speak. I’m staying home. I’m sick,? and I would vomit like 30 times a day, “I’m pregnant, I have migraine headaches, and by the way, I’m of no value in this ministry.”

So this morning I was up praying, and I said, “Lord, I don’t want to push You, but it’s morning, and You have not given me the message.”

Now I wouldn’t say I was panicking, but if I told you the truth, I was panicking.  And I said, “Let’s have a talk here. Because I’m not getting it.  I like my message.  But apparently You don’t.  It’s not the message for this day.  So what is the message?”

He said, “I don’t want you to have a message.”

I said, “That is so unfunny.”

And He said, “I don’t want you to have a message; I want you to be the message.”

And I began to think about that, and the Lord took me through this entire last year.  He took me through everything step by step, things that I was very happy to look back and see, and things that I really didn’t want to look at.

And He said, “I want you to be the message.  I am fine with the fact that Christians are speaking the Word.  But now it’s time to be the Word.  It’s time to do the Word.  It’s time to be the message.”

And I want to take you through a couple Scriptures just to prove what I’m saying is not heresy, and that we can do this.

I’ve said many times how I love to be with teenagers, but I don’t like to speak in front of them.  Because that’s a select crowd. That, in my opinion, is the toughest group on the face of the earth.

Now I love to go over to Victory Christian Center, and I get to speak with the kindergarteners and the first-graders, and I have a niece in K-4 and a nephew in first grade, and I love to paint their feet and do all the fun stuff that we do over at Victory.  and I have no problem – bring candy, you’re fine.

Richard Roberts said,  I am very familiar with this because I’m asked to do this all the time, especially as much as I am on television.  I put my hand up, and I send the word to people for healing.  And on television when I do that, my hand will get hot.  It’s getting hot right now, which lets me know that God is about to use me.

And I tell people to stretch forth their hand toward my hand.  Now someone will say, “Well, that’s crazy!”  No, you will not find me doing something unless I can back it up by the Bible.

You say, “Well, where’s that in the Bible?”  It’s in the book of Acts.  The Bible says that God brought special miracles through the hands of Paul.”  Well, I’m not Paul, but Paul’s not me.  Paul’s not here, but I am here.  So, therefore, I have a Bible right to stretch my hand out toward you and have you stretch your hand out toward me so that we can have a faith touch.

Now let’s have a demonstration at Oral Roberts University.  Anyone who needs healing, stretch your hand out toward me.  Now this is not magic.  This is the Word of God.  There’s nothing special about my hand, but it becomes an instrument when I point it at you.

In the name of Jesus, I send the word to you for your healing.  I speak to back pain, come out.  And it’s coming out in the name of the Lord.  I speak to pain in your legs, and I send the word to your legs, come out in the name of the Lord.

I speak to the problem with your heart, and I send the word to your heart to beat normally and the arteries to open up.  Every heart problem, come out. – Lindsay Roberts

I speak to eyes, and I send the word to your eyes.  Glory to God, there’s a cataract being healed right now.  God’s getting ahead of me.  That’s the fourth method.  I’ll get to number four.  I send the word to your eyes, cataract, dissolve.  Blindness, come out.

Richard Roberts – Loss of hearing, I send the word to you.  In Jesus’ name, be healed.  Now that’s another demonstration.

Richard Roberts said, listen to me with your ears tonight.  Hear with the ears of faith.  Because if you’ll begin to do what I’m saying, it will begin to bring change to your life.

Let me tell you the story of the apostle Paul.  Paul was in jail.  And he wrote a letter, a letter to a church at Philippi which he had established.  He said to them, “You’ve done well that you’ve communicated with my need.  Not that I desire a gift, but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.”

And I’d like to stop there for a moment.  Paul said, “Not that I desire a gift.”  Listen to me, my friends, every true minister of the gospel feels this way.  You say, “Well, I’ve heard of some abuse.”

Yes, it’s true, there is some abuse.  But you’ll find there is abuse in some quarters in every area of life.  There is abuse in the political world.  There’s abuse in the financial world.  There’s abuse in the medical world.  There’s abuse in the ministry world.

But don’t let the truth escape you.  Lindsay Roberts said that a real minister of the gospel does not want to receive anything for himself.  Instead, he wants to give.  And the reason he wants to give is because he knows that God will bless him.

Are you listening to me tonight?  Are you hearing me?  Is it getting inside you?  I paid my own way to El Salvador.  I paid the way for my team.  I raised the money for the medicines.

Richard Roberts – We raised the money for the food.  I came with my Bible.  I’ll go home with my Bible.  I did not come to receive.  I came to give.  If you tried to pay me for coming, I would not take the money.  Why?  Because God will take care of me.

And Jesus marveled. As what Richard Roberts said, maybe he knew the scripture in Psalms which says, “He sent his word and healed them of their destruction.  He sent his word and healed them from their destruction.”  The others didn’t seem to know that scripture.  This man understood that Jesus had the power to send His Word.

Richard Roberts shares; Many years ago God spoke to me and said, “In your ministry you’re going to send My Word.”  He said, “I see you standing on platforms, in nations all over the world.  And I see you putting up your hand and sending My Word.  And when you send My Word, people will begin to get healed.  Sickness and disease will begin to leave.”

And the scripture says, “He sent his word and healed them of their destruction.”  Tonight I’m going to send the word, and that word is going to flow right through my hands and it is going to come inside you.  And there are going to be many miracles tonight.  Hallelujah!

Jesus turned to the army captain and sent His Word.  He said, “Go home.  And as you have believed, it shall be done of your military aide.”  Lindsay Roberts said. And on the way home, the man found his aide had been healed.

I have news for you here at Oral Roberts University.  God is not a bad God.  God is a good God.  He loves you.  He cares about you.  He wants your salvation.  He wants your healing.  The price has already been paid, but you’ll have to activate your faith.  Without God you cannot, but without you He will not.  There’s something for you to do

Richard Roberts - Tonight I’m going to stretch forth my hands, and I am going to begin to pray.  And you watch what will happen.  Suddenly there will be a wave of healing.  It will begin to spread across this side here.  And people will feel a surge of the power of God.  And eyes will begin to be healed.  And ears will begin to be healed.  And cripples will begin to walk.  And cancers will begin to fall off.  And hearts will begin to be healed.  And diabetes will begin to go.  Pain will go.

WOMAN: As I was coming, I had these problems about three months and    . . . gave me medication.  Yesterday and I once had to take it because I came with the lady from Amsterdam.  So she told me not to take medication . . . medicine that the doctor gave me because when I’m going I have to take it because I cannot walk.  (Inaudible)

Richard Roberts: Is the pain gone?

INT: Yes.

RR: What happened to you?

INT: She had a pain in here, and then she said like a big pushing out.  She has also pain in the eyes, and now she has no pain.

RR: Lord, may the rest of it be healed, in Jesus’ name.  Hallelujah!  What happened to you?

INT: He felt a heat.

RR: It’s gone?  Praise the Lord.  What’s happened to you?

MAN: For many years, this arm had sensations, always this arm.  And I feel a progress.

RR: Move your arm up and down.  You what?

MAN:  Looks like it is.

RR: Up and down.  Now behind you.

MAN: I had to have an operation, but I feel that’s now okay.

RR: Hallelujah!  What happened to you?

INT: A big pain and a big growth here.

Richard Roberts: A growth?  Is it gone?  The growth is gone?

INT: And when the growth was leaving, she felt like a hair coming into her nostril.  (Inaudible)

RR: Is the growth gone?

INT: And the pain is gone.  Hallelujah!  She’s from Cameroon.

RR: Cameroon.  What happened to you?

INT: Was hit by a car two years ago.

RR: The pain is gone now?

INT: And in the name of Jesus, I know that I’m healed.  She doesn’t have the permanent pain come and goes.  Sometimes she has like a burning feeling and stuff like that.

RR: The pain’s gone now?

INT: Yes.  But she doesn’t have pain now, but she believes that it’s gone.

RR: Amen.  What’s happened to you?

INT: She had surgery.

RR: Stretch your hands out toward her.

INT: She had pain.

RR: Stretch your hands out toward her.  Loose it, in Jesus’ name.  What’s happened to you?

INT: She had a pain in the neck.  Since prayer, it’s gone.

RR: Hallelujah!  What’s happened to you?  Did you hear me give a word about the mouth?

INT: The doctor did an X-ray and they said, “We don’t understand your . . .”  She said, “I can’t eat.”

Richard Roberts: I got it.  What happened?  It’s gone?  Thank the Lord.  What happened?

Richard Roberts shares this story. One night in Cameroon there were 11 crippled people who walked.  We saw deafness healed.  We saw arthritis healed.  We saw many tremendous miracles.  And the good news is, what He did there, He’ll do here.

What are you asking of God?  Have you asked Him to become your Lord?  I’m not just talking about Him being your Savior.  Lindsay Roberts also teaches us that many have called Him Savior.  Much of the world says they’re Christian, in fact that they recognize that He is a Savior.  Some even call Him their Savior.  But is He your Lord?

It’s one thing to have your food on the table.  It’s another thing to have the food in your belly.  It’s one thing for Him to be the Lord.  It’s another thing for Him to be your Lord.

Richard Roberts asks,What are you asking Him this morning?  He’s the source of every living thing.  Every good and perfect thing cometh from Him.  Satan is not the Creator.  Satan is an imitator.  Satan has never had a creative thought in his life.  Only God creates.  Only God is your source.

Someone’s getting healed right now in your stomach even as I preach at ORU.  We’ll find out who that is a little later on.  But God is your source.  He is your source for salvation.  He is your source for healing.  He is your source for a victorious life.  He is your source of finances.

Richard Roberts – This morning we gave our offerings unto the Lord, and the Lord spoke to me and told me what I was to give.  Don’t tell me God doesn’t speak to people about money because He spoke to me this morning and told me exactly what to give.
