RR: Yeah, pray for them right now, honey.

LR: …in the name of Jesus, I speak hope into your situation right now.  We have a little girl who works here, and I love her name because her name is Hope.  Oh, what a glorious name.  God gave us hope, and His name is Jesus Christ.  And in Jesus’ name, the name that’s above every situation you face, I pray for God to touch you right now from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet, for sickness to go, for depression to go, for anxiety to go, for hurt, for fear, for grief to go.  Honey, you don’t have to have a breakdown.  My God says you can have a breakthrough. And in the name of Jesus, I speak to you right now in the name of Jesus and I say, “Satan, take your hands off God’s property and let them go,” in Jesus’ name.

RR: Oh, come on.  Give the Lord praise tonight.  Hallelujah. Just receive that!  Receive it!  If you feel like you need further prayer, call the Abundant Life Prayer Group at 918-495-7777.  It looks like almost every line. I’ve got one line; I’ve got one line available right. Lynwood, do you have another testimony?

LYNWOOD WELLS: Yes, I do, Richard.  Also a good report.  We’re already getting calls about a migraine and lung.

RR: A ha ha.

LR: Halleluia.

LW: We got seven lungs, and we already got called on one.

LR: Halleluia.

LW: Here are some more tissues, Lindsay.

LR: Okay, you guys.

LW: Well, this will brighten you up

LR: All right.

LW: because it always touches us when a child receives healing.

LR: Oh, yes.

LW: On the line are Virginia and Lisa from Broken Arrow, and they were watching the program the other night and you had a word about shoulders being healed.  Lisa had fallen, hurt her shoulder, and when she heard that word, she received it and started yelling, “I’m healed!”

LR: Halleluia.

LW: Would you like to speak with her?

RR: Virginia and Lisa are on the line?

LW: Are both on the line.

RR: Hello, Virginia.  Hello, Lisa.

LISA: Hi.

RR: Lisa, is that you?

LISA: Yes.

RR: How old are you, honey?

LISA: Nine.

RR: Nine.  How does it feel to be nine?

LISA: Good.

RR: What happened when we prayed, Lisa?

LISA: I fell as school somehow and I hurt my shoulder and I was watching you when you gave prayer for your shoulders

RR: Yep.

LISA: and I was healed.

RR: You were healed?

LISA: Uh huh.

RR: Well, how do you know you were healed?

LISA: Because I didn’t feel the pain.

RR: Because you didn’t feel the pain.

LISA: Yes, because it was for a few weeks.

RR: Because why?

LISA: It was hurting for a few weeks.

And at that point, I remember standing in front of the mirror at 15 years old and taking off all my clothes except for my undergarments, and I said, “You are so fat.  You are so ugly,” and started to berate myself.  And then I started to diet at that point.  At that point at 15, I started not to have seconds, not have desert.  And I had been an athlete all my life and had an injury and I had gained weight.  And I said, “Cut back the food,” and immediately I got my father’s approval.  My dad said, “Goodjob.  You look good.  You’ve lost the weight.”

So at 15 years old, I drew the parallel, “If I’m fine, I deserve love.  If I’m fat, I don’t.”  And I began to go ahead, and through all of my high school years and all of my college years, I was never thin enough.  I kept losing weight and losing weight, until I was at one time 103 pounds.  And I’m five foot seven and that is way too small.

And then I became a Christian.  And when I became a Christian, you know, if you’ve had an excessive thing in your life, becoming a Christian, you’ve got to renew your mind. You’ve got to change those habits.  And that habit was still in me.  And Christians don’t starve themselves, but a lot of times they overeat.  So I began to overeat, and I ate so much that I got overweight.

And I was engaged to John, and I felt very bad about myself.  I didn’t want to witness to anybody because I was overweight. And I had gone through all this stuff where I had totally destroyed my metabolism with diuretics and laxatives and throwing up.  And I had been hospitalized because I had begun to poison my own body, because when you do that, you have no way to eliminate things in your body toxins.  And I was 21 years old and had destroyed my metabolism already. And I just was getting ready to get married to John, and I had been eating, but I had still had been diagnosed with irritable bowel and lactose intolerance and everything.  And God had healed me on our very first date.  John shared with me that salvation meant whole, spirit, soul, and body.  And I’d gotten healed of the lactose intolerance, but everything else was still so messed up in my body, my metabolism.

RR: What do you have, Sue?

SUE: We have Janea who is an ORU student from Arkansas.  She came to the program last week and she had the ulcer that you gave a word of knowledge on, and she is now healed.

RR: Now is it Janea?

SUE: Janea.

RR: Is she on the phone?

SUE: Yes, she is.

RR: Janea, hello.

J: Hello.

RR: How are you?

J: I’m doing well.

RR: Do you go by the initial “J”?

J: Yes.

RR: You do?  Okay, we’ll just call you J.

J: Okay.

RR: We call our Jordan “J” so we’re pretty accustomed to doing that. What happened, J?

J: Well, I was there on Wednesday, and right before you gave the word of knowledge, my body got really hot.  And then when you said, “There’s three people that are getting healed of ulcers and one peptic,” my stomach felt like it was on fire.  And I was like, “O my God, thank You, Jesus, that’s my healing!”  And I’d been diagnosed about a year ago.

RR: Well, what difference can you tell now, J?

J: Now there’s no pain, no acid in my stomach.  Usually it is acid all the time, constantly, and the acid is gone, no more stomach pains.

RR: What about when you eat?

J: I can eat anything.

RR: Anything?

J: Yes, anything.

RR: Anything … now that’s a victory.  That’s a victory, J.  We just give praise and glory to God.  J, where are you from?

J: Right now my parents live in Arkansas.

RR: From Arkansas.  Why did you come to Oral Roberts University?

J: Jesus told me I had to.

RR: You mean He didn’t give you a choice?

J: No, not at all.  And that’s when I developed the ulcer, when I was panicking over school, where I was going to go.  And I said, “Jesus, I can’t take this anymore.  Tell me what You want me to do.”  And He said, “Go to Oral Roberts University and major in psychology.”  And now He changed my major, but that’s okay too.

RR: When will you graduate?

J: 2001.  I’m a freshman.

RR: Oh, you’re a first-year student. Okay, let’s do some student recruiting, you and me right now.  I have a student, I’m the President of the university.  What would you say to a student in high school right now who is trying to consider a college or university and are thinking about ORU.  What would you say to them?

J: If you want to experience God to the fullest and put no limits on Him, come to Oral Roberts University with an open mind and an open heart.  And He will take you above and beyond anything that the human mind can imagine.  God is just so good.  Put your life in His hands, and He will mold you to be exactly what He wants you to be.  That’s exactly what I would say. As a matter of fact, Richard, I have two friends coming back for College Weekend, and they’re thinking about coming because I invited them here last two weekends ago for College Weekend.

RR: Oh, praise God.  J, God bless you.  Thanks for calling, J.

RR: Sue, do you have a testimony?  What’s happening?

SUE: I do.  I have John on the line from Cuyoga, Ontario, Canada. Last week you gave a word of knowledge about chest pains.  And John was sitting on his table, got up, went to sit on the sofa, turned the TV on and you said, “Someone’s getting healed of chest pains.”  He is healed.

RR: Hello, John.

J: Yes, Richard.

RR: How are you tonight?

J: I am very well.

RR: Tell me what happened, John, the other night when we were praying.

J: Well, recently this is 11 years ago I had a severe heart attack.  My heart stopped seven minutes, and so I had triple bypass.

RR: Now that was 11 years ago.

RR: And I set my faith in agreement with you, Cliff.  I honor you for what you’re doing, for the work that God has given you.  You’re touching people that others may not ever reach, not only here in America but around the earth.  I honor you for it, and I thank you for coming and sharing tonight. This is the new book, Eight Habits of the Heart, the timeless values that build strong communities within our homes and our cities.  It’s available in bookstores.

CT: Everywhere.

RR: all over the country.  You can get it virtually in every bookstore.

CT: It almost Richard, it’s almost sold out the first printing in 2 1/2 weeks.  I..

LR: What does that feel like, when you walk into a store and there you are?  Does that feel like.

CT: Well, you know, Mr. Roberts said some twenty or thirty years ago that he would raise up a people that would go into every man’s world, and I have been into worlds I never dreamed existed to take the love of God through the profession that He has given me, the profession of writing.  I never dreamed I’ll be leaving next week for Panama and then on to Costa Rica.

LR: Wow.

CT: to share the value of literature and moving people ahead, working with the American embassy.  I never dreamed that this would be my lot in life, living in the Mississippi Delta.  But you don’t have to dream when you have a God that dreams for you.

RR: Well, I’ve got news for you.  I never dreamed of being president of Oral Roberts University. So we’ve got something in common.  Here’s the book, Eight Habits of the Heart.  It’s available in bookstores all across America. There is a wonderful, wonderful testimony of a family up in Wichita, Kansas.  Here is a man who gives his life to Jesus and five weeks later faces a life-threatening situation.  Just watch. Here’s a wonderful testimony.

Woman: The doctor said, “You can’t do it.”  Well, he proved them that he could.

Man: Five weeks after rededicating his life to the Lord, Fred Mower was faced with death.

Woman: He had a blood vein at the on the ear channel broke, and they said it dripped like a water faucet, formed a pool of blood over the nerve channel, which is at the base of the brain, back here in the back.

Fred Mower: I had one doctor tell me that there was absolutely no way for me to be alive, that he had never had anyone with a bleed like I had in the spot that I had it, larger than the size of a half dollar, survive.  Mine was as large as a silver dollar and yet I was alive.  And I had another doctor tell me that even though I lived through the night, I would probably not live more than two or three more days.  And twenty-one years plus later, I’m still here. To be honest, my strength grew daily because every day that I lived was just one more day that proved God right and the world wrong.

Woman: There’s been many times when we say, “God, why can’t we have it now?  Why can’t he be healed now?”  Our children I have three sons, and there were a lot of times when they said, “Mom, why can’t God heal him right now?”  We knew He was going to, all three boys believed this, and all I can just tell people is you just have to take it one day at a time.  You can’t give up on God.  You just have to trust Him.  You just have to trust Him.

SPKM DON POTTER When I first got saved I assumed this was really only an assumption on my part that I would immediately go full-time Christian music and run away from the world and never be in the world again and never have to face all the people I knew in the world, because it was many.  And so I made one Christian album on Murray Records and I’ve just finished my second one, as a matter of fact.  But I assumed that that would be, “O.K., I’m ready for the Christian music business.  Thank you.”  And it changed from there.  The Lord said, “No, I’ve got something better not better than that, I don’t mean that.

That’s the wrong term, but I have something that I want you to stay in.  I’ve trained you to be in that business, I want you to stay there.  And that’s when I first met the producer of The Judds and he asked me to come to their house one afternoon when they were very, very first starting.  He said, “This mother and daughter, I love the way they sound.  I just want to get some arrangements and try to make a demo.”  And I got into their house; meanwhile, still carpentering, and stood there with them and began to play.  And they decided somewhere, by God’s grace, that I was very important to their sound.  And I thought, golly, when was the last time an act said, you are important to our sound?  And then the record company heard the first demos that we did and their first reaction was, that’s very important to your sound.  That little guitar thing is very important to your sound.

And suddenly I got swept up into this thing and never even expected it, quite frankly.  I really expected to do a demo and go home, is pretty much what would be the normal.  And the Lord began to lift me up in their eyes, is really what it was.  I’d love to say it was because I’m so handsome, but it was the Lord really lifted me up in their eyes so that I wouldn’t say I became a spiritual father, but in some ways it was like a spiritual father because the Lord had really put a burning desire in my heart to talk about the Lord with them.  I just couldn’t shut up after I first got with them.  And after a year of being with them, we were on the road.  I worked with them on the road.  And one night the daughter, Winona, who is a sweet, tender girl.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS She’s the lead singer.

SPKM DON POTTER She’s the lead singer.  Just came to me on the bus and she said, “I just need to know more about this Lord that you serve.”  And I led her to the Lord and she’s a blessing, you know.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Well, I want you to do something for me, Don.  I want you to do two things, number one, I want you to greet The Judds for me.  I’ve never met them.  I’ve seen them many times. I’ve seen them win awards and I’ve always enjoyed their music.  I want you to greet them for me and give them an invitation some time to come on this program and just sing and enjoy themselves.  And the second thing is, I want you to sing and play another song.  Give him a welcome.  Here’s Don Potter. Don, bless you.

SPKM DON POTTER Thank you.  This is a song, a tiny bit of preempt I’ll give you ahead of it.  This is called “First Love.”  It really deals with coming to the Lord in a real way, but more than that, seeing the faults of all of our friends and fellow Christians and whatever and loving them through them.  I thought every Christian was perfect when I first saw them.  I assumed that they were all wonderful, which they are, but then someone said, “Oh, wait till you get to know a few.”  They thought and sure enough, there were a few that were not as wonderful as I would have hoped, I guess, you know.  And the bubble sort of disappeared.  Then I realized the Lord had something much stronger than just a false bubble.  It was a commitment to walk with the brethren, regardless of what you think of them.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Don Potter and I are joined today by my good friend Dino Kartsonakis Dino, God bless you, and welcome.  You know, Dino, nobody ever lets you talk. They think that your last name is At The Piano, Dino At The Piano.  They don’t know that your last name is Kartsonakis. They don’t know that you’re Greek.  Of course anybody who looks at you can tell that you’re not, you know, you’re not from Denmark. But

SPKM DINO KARTSONAKIS Or Switzerland.

SPKM DINO KARTSONAKIS PRYM Oh, how I love Him, how I adore Him. Father, I played that from the bottom of my heart.  There’s such a sense of love in this studio. Lord, we love You with all our hearts.  You’ve supplied our needs and we know You’re going to continue to supply our needs, Father.  Lord, I pray this moment. I just feel that we need to pray for Oral. Continue to give him courage.  Continue to give him wisdom, divine wisdom; we want that more than anything.  And, Lord, how we need that wisdom.  We commit everything to You and will continue to serve You with everything that we have, the talent that You’ve given to us.  In Your name we pray.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS PRRR And I add my prayers to Don’s prayers and Dino’s prayers.  And I focus in on Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Son of the living God, who is able to take you over to the other side, even in the face of the devil’s roar.  I come against the sickness and the disease in your body.  And I pray for you to be healed today, from your head to your feet.  I rebuke that satanic attack in your life and I agree with you for a miracle. And I won’t stop praying and believing until the miracle comes. In the name of Jesus.  Amen and amen.  Till we see you next time, remember, no matter what it looks like, God can turn it around for you.

SPKM DINO KARTSONAKIS Oh, wow

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS I think your fingers are all right.

SPKM DON POTTER As long as he’ll keep practicing, that’s all.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS That’s right.

SPKM DINO KARTSONAKIS That song, “Oh How I Love Him,” how old is that?  I mean, that’s been around for years.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Very, very long time.

SPKM DINO KARTSONAKIS The meaning of that, again, oh how I love Him, how I adore Him.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS We have just a few moments before our program closes and I want us to take time right now to pray with those who are watching, many people across this nation and Canada and even in foreign nations.  I got a call the other day from Bishop Harold down in Jamaica who said, “There’s a satellite dish here and we can get your program here in this city in Jamaica every day and we watch you faithfully every day.” Bishop Harold, if you’re watching this morning, God bless you.

Watching live down in Jamaica.  Anyone who has a satellite dish, you know, in North American continent, you know, can see this program. And there are a lot of servicemen who are watching this program.  And I thank God for that.  And I’ve got news for you; there is no distance in prayer.  God’s here where we are.  He’s there where you are.  And when we pray together, miracles can happen.  I’m going to ask everybody here in our studio audience to join hands with the person you’re next to.  And let’s all join hands.  And let’s each one of us pray.  Don, I’m going to ask you if you’ll begin and then Dino and then I’ll close in just these moments as we close our program today.

SPKM DON POTTER PRYM Heavenly Lord Jesus, we come before You as servants, Father, at best.  We lift our hearts to You, Father God.  We ask for Your guidance by Your Holy Spirit, Almighty God. Touch us, Father, this day.  Open those places, Father.  Teach us what a broken and contrite heart really means, O God.  Show us that servitude has not much to do with being the master of anything, mighty God, but it has all to do with serving You as the King of this universe, O God.  We lift up our hearts to You. We lift our prayers to You.  We ask for Your mercy, Almighty God, on this country, on the leaders of this country.  We ask Your mercy upon all of us, Lord, who have sat in apathy in areas that we should be moving, Father, that You would move by Your Spirit, Father.  We ask that You would move among us, glow among us with Your Holy Spirit, O Lord Jesus.  Lift up our hearts, O God, that we would hear You clearer and clearer day after day.  I pray a blessing upon this university, Lord, and upon the people of this university.  Their hearts are good, Lord Jesus, and their hearts are of You, O Lord Jesus.  Praise You, Father.  Praise You, Jesus.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS You cannot out give God.  And when you give, will you expect God to multiply it back to you in the way you need it most?  Or you can just sit down and write me a letter, Richard Roberts, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Or Richard Roberts, Toronto, Ontario, if you live up in Canada.  Lots of people in Canada are watching this program now.  Our program is on up in Canada.  And you can sow a seed.  And when you do, expect God to multiply it back.

SPKM DINO KARTSONAKIS And He won’t just multiply with money, which is

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Oh, He multiplies it in the way you need it most.

SPKM DINO KARTSONAKIS Exactly.  You see, if you need friends perhaps, family, the love of people

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Healing.

SPKM DINO KARTSONAKIS Healing.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Relationships.

SPKM DINO KARTSONAKIS I’m dying to play that piano.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Well, I want to know how your fingers are.

SPKM DINO KARTSONAKIS Does this exercise program do anything for the fingers?

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Listen, I told you that everyone, every one other television programs just let you play, they don’t let you talk.  I’m not going to let you play; I’m just going to let you talk.  No, I want you to go to the piano

SPKM DINO KARTSONAKIS Why?

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Because I want to see if your fingers are all right after coming back from Haiti.

SPKM DINO KARTSONAKIS I’m working on a new album right now and I spent 16 hours it’s a wonder I didn’t walk on this set with a piano stool attached to my, you know.  But anyway, the other day I was working 16 hours and I split this finger right here.  And I’ll tell you, something, there’s a healing power in this place because my finger is feeling wonderful and I think I’m going to play with everything I’ve got right now.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Would you go to the piano?

SPKM DINO KARTSONAKIS Yes, I would love to.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Take this microphone off, because I’m not going to let you get off this program without letting the people hear Dino Kartsonakis at the piano.  Give him a good handclap.   You’re in for a real treat.

SPKM DINO KARTSONAKIS SONG Oh how I love Him

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS You can call the Abundant Life Prayer Group at 918-495-7777 and you can put it on your credit card.  Or you can now, you can now send a check.  But now of course when you use a credit card, then the money is released immediately for the work of the ministry.  And later on I’m going to show you exactly where that money is going, at least for the work that we’re doing through the ministry.  But Lindsay said to me when I got back from Korea, “Why don’t you show a portion of the film itself? Now you show a little bit of it there in the commercial, but why don’t you show an actual clip of the movie itself?”  And what I want to show you right now is a scene from “Venture Into Faith.”

You people here in the studio, you want to look up, you can see the monitor.  And let me show you about two or three minutes of this magnificent motion picture.  Just watch this.  (Roll-in of “Venture Into Faith”)  Lindsay, in 1952 when this film was made there wasn’t much known in America about the healing power of God.  (That’s right.)   And the idea that the Lord gave my father Oral Roberts to make this film was to let people know that God still heals today.  And that’s just–as you could tell—the beginning of the movie.  And throughout this week and next week I’m going to be showing other clips, right up to the dramatic healing of this little boy in the movie from tuberculosis.  And, by the way, the mother, the mother, the part of the mother is played by Thelma Ritter.  Of course everyone remembers the great western actor, Tex Ritter.  Well, Thelma is Tex Ritter’s wife and also the mother of the actor John Ritter, quite an acting family.

And Thelma, I remember that so very well.  But I want to offer you your own copy of the feature length motion picture, “Venture Into Faith,” for your $100 seed into the Oral Roberts’ ministry. Now you can put it on your credit card by calling 918-495-7777. Or you can sow a seed of $100 into the ministry.  You can write me, Richard Roberts, Tulsa, Oklahoma or call the Abundant Life Prayer Group, 918-495-7777.  Let me know that you want it.  And I will put it immediately into the mail.  Sow your $100 seed and your seed is going toward the repair work that’s going on on campus this summer.  Now tomorrow on the program, Lindsay, we’re going to take the people out onto the campus and let them see the roofs that have to be repaired this summer, the parking lots that have to be repaired, the air conditioner, the heaters, the cooling tower, the chillers, the stairs, carpets, paint, things like that that we have to do this summer.  We’re trying to purchase all of this stuff and get it done now, all the materials.  We need some money to get it done.  We need your help.

And a part of what you sow for “Venture Into Faith” is going into this project, as well as all that we’re doing for God through Oral Roberts University, through the City of Faith, through the miracle Healing Outreach Center, through this television program and everything that we’re doing for God.  And I want to give you an opportunity to be a part of it and also when you receive your copy of “Venture Into Faith,” you will get this magnificent certificate of authenticity which is signed, numbered and dated.  Now my plan is, when the end of May comes, I’m not going to offer this anymore on the program.  And you will not ever be able to get it through this program again after the end of this month.  So you’d better get your order in today.

SPLR LINDSAY ROBERTS Tell the one thing about the people when they went…. you said the ancillary buildings, but when Richard got off the plane they started taking pictures, all the way through the entire crusade, till the end of the crusade.  And as he left they gave him this photo album of everything that went on.  And one of the buildings that he’s talking about had how many stories filled with people with closed-circuit TV?

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Well, one of the buildings next door that’s owned by the church is an 8-story building, 8 floors, and every room on every floor was filled with people watching on closed-circuit television.  As I understand it, they had 79 remote television setups for people to watch via closed circuit television.  See, the church only holds about 20,000 but they had an additional 30,000 the first night and an additional 40,000 in all of the other properties that they own, plus there were people standing in the street.  Is that that picture book?  Bring it on in, Kathy.  They had people standing in the streets.  I don’t know if these pictures will show up.  It’s better seen on the video.

SPLR LINDSAY ROBERTS This was absolutely hard to believe when I saw it.  When you see this building it….. how many stories high again?

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS One is eight stories and one is eleven stories.

SPLR LINDSAY ROBERTS One is eight stories and one is eleven stories and all this is is buildings with gigantic rooms in it with closed-circuit television to take care of the overflow of the crowd.  Then when all those buildings were filled up, they put a closed-circuit TV monitor in the street and then the people lined all the way out the street.  It was miraculous. (APPLAUSE)

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS It’s hard to see these snapshots on television.  It’s hard to see snapshots to look right on television.  You will see it lots better tomorrow and the next day or two because you can’t see the balconies.

SPLR LINDSAY ROBERTS Each one of these areas here has balcony areas that go all the way back in the back of the building.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Honey, turn the page there.

SPLR LINDSAY ROBERTS It’s almost hard to conceive how that many people can get into an auditorium.  It’s absolutely phenomenal.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Now there’s a pretty good view of the crowd itself.

SPLR LINDSAY ROBERTS Where’s the one where they’re all in the street?  I wish you could see this.

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Here it is, here it is.

SPLR LINDSAY ROBERTS We’ll find a better way to show this.  These people are all out in the street on closed-circuit TV monitors watching….

SPRR RICHARD ROBERTS Watching a big television.  And these are some of the rooms on this side…. these are some of the rooms of overflow where they have thousands and thousands in one room and in other rooms in an 8-story and an 11-story building over there. It’s absolutely amazing.  And I’ll tell you a little secret tomorrow that Dr. Cho shared with me about the future in Korea. I won’t share that today so you be sure and watch tomorrow. (APPLAUSE) Tomorrow I’m going to share a special interview that I did with Dr. Cho.  It will be a dream come true and I know it’s of the Lord, but I’ll be sharing that with you tomorrow so don’t miss tomorrow’s program.  In a moment though I’m going to take you down to the Church on the Rock in Rockwall, Texas.  Yesterday on our Sunday morning program my dad was preaching a message on the rich young ruler.

Now the rich young ruler, Lindsay, in that particular scripture where Jesus and the rich young ruler had a conversation, is one of the most misunderstood passages from the Bible.  There are many people who have taken that scripture and said, “You cannot have money and serve God.”   SR01 That’s not what Jesus said.  Jesus said, “You cannot serve money and serve God.” ( RR_Matthew_06:24 ) God’s not against you having money. He just does not want you to put your trust in your money, in your possessions, but put your trust in God.  And after that conversation, after the rich young ruler went away sorrowfully because he had his trust in the money, after that then Peter asked a question.  He said, “You know, Lord, we’ve left all. What’s in it for us?”  And some people say, “Well, that’s a terrible thing to say.”  I disagree.  I think it’s a great question to ask, for Peter to say, “What’s in it for us?”  And Jesus explained what was in it.  A hundredfold blessing, with persecutions, and everlasting life, eternal life.  And while my dad was preaching at the Church on the Rock, he did something very, very unusual in the form of an explanation and right now I want to share that with you.  So go with me to the Church on the Rock and this is from our Sunday program “Expect a Miracle” just yesterday on our Sunday program.  Here is my dad Oral Roberts at Larry Lea’s Church on the Rock.  ROLL-IN of OR at Church on the Rock from EAM dated 5-10-87.  (APPLAUSE)
